Global launch cadence has climbed sharply this decade. Return capacity has not kept pace. Every capability on this page closes part of that loop, from reaching orbit to bringing a mission home.

Everything a mission needs to leave Earth, and come home.

Eight integrated capability lines close the loop between leaving Earth and coming home: vertical and equatorial launch, horizontal launch and recovery, re-entry and return, range and test services, hypersonics, advanced manufacturing and a sea launch pathway in development.

01 · Launch

Vertical Launch. Polar and sun-synchronous.

Vertical launch from the Australis Polar corridor on the Nullarbor, with southward trajectories over the Great Australian Bight, open ocean, zero civilian air traffic, zero land overflight.

Inland-oriented trajectories serve the Red Haven test envelope; coastal azimuths serve orbital missions to polar and sun-synchronous inclinations, the orbits that watch, map and monitor the planet.

02 · Launch

Equatorial Launch. Minutes from the equator.

Australis Equatorial at Christmas Island sits at 10.5°S in the Indian Ocean, the Indo-Pacific's low-latitude window. Launching close to the equator gives rockets the maximum boost from Earth's rotation: fuel saved becomes payload gained or satellite life extended.

The site is polar-capable too, with southward azimuths over open ocean, making it the rare launch site that serves both ends of the inclination envelope. Services performed on-island also sit outside Australia's indirect tax zone, delivering a structurally cleaner cost base for international customers.

03 · Launch & Recovery

Horizontal Launch & Recovery. Nearly 3 km of sealed runway.

Two sealed asphalt runways (1,519 m + 1,349 m) on a sovereign estate, with unobstructed approach corridors from every direction and no civilian traffic to deconflict.

That combination serves runway-launched vehicles on the way up, and spaceplanes, winged testbeds and hypersonic glide vehicles on the way down. Sealed-runway recovery in the southern hemisphere is scarce; here it exists today.

Re-Entry & Return. The first door back.

Launch capacity has multiplied this decade. Re-entry capacity has not. Orbital factories returning pharmaceuticals, fibre optics and semiconductors grown in microgravity, sample-return missions from the Moon, asteroids and Mars, test vehicles that must be recovered, inspected and flown again: every one of them needs somewhere to come home.

05 · Red Haven Range

Range & Test Services. A dual-use inland envelope.

Red Haven Range is the inland test and re-entry envelope behind the Australis Polar corridor, flat Nullarbor limestone with population density under 0.1 persons per square kilometre, under one sovereign jurisdiction.

It is complementary to national test ranges and commercially accessible for sustained multi-customer programs: solid rocket motor static fire and qualification, munitions-class testing, sounding rocket campaigns, flight test and dual-use R&D, with integrated tracking and telemetry.

06 · Hypersonics

Hypersonics. Test it, recover it, fly it again.

Hypersonic programs need two things that rarely coexist: a high-energy inland test envelope, and a sealed runway to bring winged vehicles home. The Australis corridor has both.

Aligned with AUKUS Pillar II advanced-capability priorities, the corridor supports allied hypersonic test campaigns with the test loop, launch, recover, inspect, relaunch, closed in days rather than weeks.

Beyond the Corridor

Manufacturing on site, and a maritime pathway ahead.

On the range

Advanced Manufacturing

Additive manufacturing, propulsion work and composite fabrication co-located with the range, so recovered vehicles are inspected, repaired and requalified without leaving the corridor, and test articles are produced next to the pad that flies them. Western Australia's critical-minerals base underwrites a sovereign supply chain for propellant and energetics feedstock.

Sea Launch Pathway

Launch from the ocean.

A maritime launch pathway is under engineering study: purpose-built offshore platforms operating in the Indian Ocean, adding multi-inclination flexibility and responsive allied launch from ocean positions, alongside the two land corridors.
